Stairlift Repairs FAQs
How quickly can you repair my stairlift?
At Multicare we aim to have your stairlift working again as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. If you’ve bought your stairlift from us, you might be covered by a maintenance plan or manufacturer’s warranty; but even if you didn’t, we can repair your stairlift with a call out charge.
Why isn’t my stairlift moving?
Your stairlift might be stopping for a number of reasons. First, check for any obstructions that might be getting in the way of your stairlift’s movement. If there’s nothing in the way, it could be down to the rail, which needs to be clean, dry and not over-lubricated. Only attempt to clean the rail with a damp cloth if it is safe for you to do so. If you aren’t able to resolve this issue, it’s recommended that you contact a stairlift engineer.
How much does it cost to repair a stairlift?
Stairlift repairs will usually be covered in your maintenance contract which is included when you buy a new stairlift. Extended warranties are also available from the stairlift manufacturers upon request. However, if you don’t have either, a call out charge will be applicable, which can depend on a number of factors, including the exact problem you’re having with your stairlift.
How often should a stairlift be serviced?
In order to keep a stairlift in optimum condition, it should be serviced once a year. Our fixed cost service plans are carried out by our qualified stairlift engineers, who ensure every aspect of your stairlift is performing correctly and safely.
