Multicare Mobility wants our customers to live their lives to the fullest. This is why we are providers of mobility aids such as stairlifts and mobility scooters which enable our customers’ freedom of movement. In 2019 there are a number of events being carried out across the country to celebrate the advancement in mobility aids and encourage fulfilled lives of anyone with limited mobility. Here at Multicare Mobility, we have put together a list of the most unmissable events taking place in the first 6 months of the 2019 calendar.
From new and modern stairlifts to the newest walk-in baths, the latest technology has enabled there to be lots of useful items that can help those with limited mobility continue to live active and independent lives. These latest technologies are often displayed at mobility events by their manufacturers to show off what they can do. The mobility and disability sector is always evolving with new products hitting the market, but the best way to keep up to date with new innovations is to visit the latest exhibitions and events that are taking place throughout 2019.
Here we give you an insight into the top mobility and disability shows, but please bear in mind that some are designed specifically for care providers and other healthcare professionals but this will be stated clearly in the text. Disabled and Successful – Yes You Can! – This is a multiple date event, usually falling on the 3rd and 28th of every month so the next event is the 28th January 2019 11:00-13:00. The events held on the 28th of every month are always at the address: Reading Town Hall, Blagrave Street, Reading, RG1 1QH. The events on the 3rd of every month have a different location of: 1 Northumberland Avenue, Trafalgar Square, London, WC2N 5BW.
This is a motivational seminar about how people with a disability can make a difference. Lunch and hot and cold drinks are provided at the event.
Oliver Paull, the director of Turnkey Training Limited, who will be running the event, said, “The event is a seminar where I tell my story of being disabled and how I had to adapt to be successful in what I wanted to do. The main purpose of the event is to motivate attendees and inspire them. ‘Every person with a disability is an individual!’”
Do Your Own Thing – Heart n Soul is an award-winning creative arts company who believe in the talents and power of people with learning disabilities, and who provide opportunities for people to discover, develop and share this talent. Once a month the run the free event called ‘Do Your Own Thing’ for anyone between the ages of 10-25 years old with a disability. They offer training in music, dance, radio DJing and digital arts. Young people get the chance to work on exciting projects with a range of professional facilitators, they decide what they want to do and work together to make it happen.
The event is held once a month on a Saturday between 12pm-4pm. The upcoming events are on:

Abilities Expo – The Abilities Expo is one of the biggest events in the world and for nearly 40 years it has been a go-to source for people with mobility problems and other disabilities all over the world. Unfortunately, the event is located in Los Angeles so unless you have a trip planned for February it is unlikely that many of us will get to experience it. However, it will showcase new exciting and innovative technology in the mobility sphere which we are sure to see trickle down to Mobility companies such as Multicare Mobility in the coming years.

Kidz to Adultz Exhibitions – Dates of events: 21 March 2019 (Kidz to Adultz Middle), 16 May 2019 (Kidz to Adultz South), 4 July 2019 (Kidz to Adultz Wales & West), 14 November (Kidz to Adultz North), Kidz to Adultz Scotland date is to be announced.
Location: Ericsson Exhibition Hall in Coventry (Kidz to Adultz Middle), Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre (Kidz to Adultz South), Thornbury Leisure Centre in Bristol (Kidz to Adultz Wales & West), EventCity in Manchester (Kidz to Adultz North), Kidz to Adultz Scotland (TBC).
The Kidz to Adultz events are free to attend and they support children and young adults with disabilities. The events are organised by Disabled Living and have been carried out every year since 2001. At this year’s events there will be more than 120 exhibitors sharing information and offering advice on the following:
- Legal matters
- Sport activities
- Accessible vehicles
There are also free CPD seminars for professionals, parents and carers to attend as some of the topics that will be covered in these sessions include moving and handling, toileting issues, sleep issues, seating, employment and lots more.
Naidex – In 2019, Naidex will be returning to Birmingham’s NEC to celebrate its 45th birthday! On the 26th & 27th of March, the show will once again gather the entirety of the world of disability and independent living and offer them a look into the industry’s future. There is expected to be 350 exhibitors, 250 seminars, live demonstrations, advice sessions, CPD accredited seminars and ample networking opportunities for attendees. Naidex will once again become the hub of the disability sector and reaffirm its reputation as Europe’s most established event dedicated to accessibility, inclusion, care and rehabilitation of people with a disability.
There is no limit to the reach of this event free-to-attend event with more than 15,000 like-minded individuals annually turning out for this show. To find out more about the event, please visit the NEC event page.
The Big Event – Following a successful turn out at the NEC in 2018, The Big Event will be returning to the venue for the 2019 event. It is the Motability Scheme’s flagship show and is the UK’s largest display of cars, scooters and powered wheelchairs for disabled people. The event, which is free-to-attend for visitors and offers free parking as well, allows those with mobility problems to find out everything they need to know about worry-free motoring with Motability.
