How do you know if you need a hinged track?
For the seat to lower to the users height, to sit on with ease, it is necessary for the track to extend beyond the staircase. For some people, there isn’t a clear area at the bottom of the stairs and a stairlift may intrude across a doorway . A hinged track can be fitted to ensure access through the doorway isnt restricted or dangerous
Manual Hinge
Models available with a hinged track are the Minivator Simplicity, Minivator Simplicity+ and the Minivator 1000. Manual hinges are lifted out of the way when the stairlift is not in use. The gas strut assisted hinge is designed to make manual operation as easy as possible.
Powered Hinge
Both the Minivator 1000 and the Minivator 2000 models are available with an automatic hinged track. A button on the remote sends the stairlift slightly up the track, the hinge section then folds up when the Stairlift is not in use, there is no manual lifting involved. When operating the stairlift from the toggle, the hinge will lift/lower automatically. Powered hinges are operated at the touch of a button from eith upstairs or down to move the track away from doorways.
